FARGO ENCOURAGES RESIDENTS TO CONSIDER FLOOD INSURANCE
The city of Fargo is actively monitoring forecasts and conditions in anticipation of a potential 2020 spring flooding event. The first Spring Flood Outlook, issued Jan. 23 by the National Weather Service, served as a reminder for residents to utilize the city’s interactive flood stage map to determine potential property impacts at various river stages. Residents are encouraged to consider purchasing flood insurance and to be aware of the 30-day-after-purchase-date delay until the policy goes into effect. If sandbagging operations become necessary, Fargo and Cass County will be jointly collaborating.
